Fair In Relationships
| |Fair Is 50/50 Right
What’s up Fam? I was just reading a blog by Regina DeMeo: “Is 50 50 Really Fair?” http://genxsmartie.blogspot.com/2014/06/is-5050-really-fair.html
Very powerful blog. I didn’t really think about the fact that in some states, the courts decide in a divorce who gets what and the magnitude of their decisions. I am in California which is a community property state. I would recommend reading it. Below is my comment:
Powerful blog. I definitely agree that you don’t want others deciding what is best for you or your relationships and there is no such thing as 50/50 in life. You want people to play to their strengths.
People have prejudices and what they consider to be right or wrong. What should have more weight in a relationship, etc. So you don’t want their beliefs, deciding your path.
I am always sharing with people that in a relationship you (the couple) must agree what is best for your relationship.
Bringing in outside people (before, during and after) is a reason some relationships don’t work. Outside people include friends, family, etc.
There are 2 keys to all relationships: 1) allow people to be who they are without trying to change them. Then you get to decide if you want to be a part of what they bring to the table and 2) communication. Open lines of communication makes sure all issues stay small and get resolved immediately.
